    Cannabis causes Reverse Tolerance (more you smoke, less you need to get high)

    Reverse tolerance or drug sensitization is the phenomenon of a reversal of the side-effects from a drug, the reduction of insensitivity caused after drug tolerance has been established, or, in some cases, an increase in specific effects of a single drug existing alongside a tolerance to other effects of the same.

    A novice marihuana smoker often reports feeling no high or requiring considerably more drug to get high on his first few trials with the drug than after he obtains more experience with the drug. This phenomenon has been called “reverse tolerance.” These clinicians believed this represented “learning to get high” or acquiring the ability to appreciate or become sensitive to the subtle aspects of the intoxication.
